Life experience matters. After a fulfilling 19-year career in higher education and fundraising, I chose to transition into financial planning as a financial advisor. I've raised a child, navigated the complexities of college, bought and sold houses, changed jobs (and retirement plans), figured out health care options, built secure retirement funds, and more. I've also encountered challenges, such as overspending, making poor investment choices, trusting the wrong people, and facing failures. This blend of life knowledge, combined with my licenses and credentials, creates a powerful foundation for human-centered advising.
When I began this career, I encountered the same queries I'd heard from advisors years ago: "What's their household income?" "Do they have a minimum of $XXX in assets?" It often felt like the 'ideal client' was defined solely by how much an advisor could earn from them. However, I believe everyone needs financial guidance, particularly those who have dedicated so much of themselves to their careers and communities. Our journeys are measured by more than just a balance sheet, and my mission is to ensure your balance sheet reflects the true value of your life, incorporating the principles of wealth management.
